my approach to
therapy & experience
MEET NATASHA
A little about me….
I’m a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist and I work with adults who are struggling with anxiety, stress, fears, persistent pain and tinnitus.
But before telling you about my qualifications, I want to tell you a little about me.
Because choosing a therapist is a personal decision. You need to feel comfortable with the person you’re going to talk to, and you need to feel that they will genuinely listen, understand and respect you.
That’s the kind of relationship I aim to create with every client
WHY I BECAME A THERAPIST
Before becoming a therapist, I spent more than 20 years working in marketing and sales.
Although I enjoyed many aspects of my career, over time I realised that I wanted to do something that felt more personally meaningful — something where I could make a real difference to people’s lives.
I wanted to help people feel better, understand themselves and feel more able to live the life they wanted.
That led me to retrain as a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist.
It was a decision that changed the direction of my career, and one I’m incredibly glad I made.
WHAT I BELIEVE ABOUT THERAPY
I don’t believe that anyone should be made to feel that they’re simply “overthinking”, “worrying too much” or that they should just “think positively”.
When you’re caught in a cycle of anxiety, fear or pain, what you’re experiencing can feel very real and very difficult.
Sometimes you may even know that your thoughts aren’t particularly helpful, but knowing that doesn’t necessarily make it easy to change them.
That’s where I believe therapy can help.
Rather than telling you what you should do, we’ll work together to understand what’s happening, why those patterns may have developed and what you can do differently.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT WORKING WITH ME
You don’t need to have everything figured out before you come to therapy.
You don’t need to know exactly what’s wrong or be able to explain why you’re feeling the way you do.
We’ll work that out together.
I aim to create a calm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and feel listened to.
My approach is collaborative, which means we work together on what you want to achieve.
We’ll agree goals that are realistic and meaningful to you, and we’ll regularly look at your progress along the way.
I also believe therapy should give you practical tools that you can use outside of our sessions — not simply something that happens during the time we spend together.
Helping you feel understood, not judged.
My role isn’t to judge where you are now.
It’s to help you understand where you are, where you’d like to be and what steps might help you get there.
Finding the right therapist matters
Therapy is a very personal experience, and I don’t believe that every therapist will be right for every person. That’s okay.
What’s important is finding someone you feel comfortable talking to — someone you feel listens to you, understands what you’re trying to achieve and makes you feel safe enough to be honest.
If that sounds like the kind of therapeutic relationship you’re looking for, I’d be very happy to have an initial conversation with you.
There is no pressure to decide anything straight away.
Sometimes the first step is simply having a conversation.
You don’t have to work everything out on your own
